Sports bikes sacrifice comfort for the ultimate speed and maneuverability. They have incredibly light frames and most modern sports bikes use inline-four engines(simple internal combustion engines with four cylinders mounted in a straight line). Fairings—hard metal shells wrapped around a motorcycle—protect the engine from wind damage at high speeds. Windshields are often attached to the Fairings, protecting both motorcycle and rider from the dragging effects of high speed winds.
Most sports bikes also have high footpegs so you can comfortably keep your legs closer to your body to improve ground clearance when going around corners and increase overall speed. The rider is supposed to lean forward in such a way that the wind itself supports their body weight; at less than 100KM they will have to hold themselves up and most riders will find themselves quickly fatigued.
Streetfighters are an offshoot of sports bikes that were originally customized sports bikes with the fairings removed and higher handlebars to increase comfort. Many people find these to be the perfect middle ground between a standard motorcycle and specialized sports bikes.
